My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at Woodbridge High School (1 Samuel Lupo Pl, Woodbridge, NJ 07095) from 11am - 3pm.

Meet Hiram!

Hiram is a loving, playful, totally house-trained 40 lbs 7-year-old Beagle mix who would make a great companion! He lives with his foster mom, her 13-year-old son, and two resident dogs.

Hiram will always match your energy. He can go for a run with you or cuddle on the couch all day. He does love being outdoors and sniffing his heart away. He is typically great on the leash and will match your pace when you run. He is very smart and is very meat/fish motivated so training him to do anything you'd like should be a snap! He's already learned, sit, down, and pata (paw, yes he is bilingual).

Hiram would love a family who can match his unconditional love. He loves to cuddle, give unlimited kisses, and be close to you. He gets sad when he's alone and will show you how much he has missed you as soon as you walk in.

Hiram is allergic to chicken so his diet is no poultry. Did I mention he is food motivated? he will work for his food. He loves home-cooked meal foods but is happy to eat kibble. He loves stuffed animals, toys, and bones.

If your family is looking for an energetic curious dog, please apply to adopt Hiram today! He can't wait to meet you!

Hiram is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $325.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
