This quiet, red-orange tabby kitten was born in May 2023 and found with siblings and an abandoned mom cat. Fern is kitten-active, plays by herself with cat toys and interactively with you. She likes to watch wildlife at the window and she enjoys brushing and petting. Fern tolerates most dogs, other cats, and hasn’t met kids, but if they are gentle and respectful, she should be fine.

She is affectionate on her own terms, friendly with known folks, and shy of strangers. Fern tolerates being picked up but quickly wants down. She will stay for short sessions of lap sitting. She will take a few weeks to blossom and feel secure. She uses a scratching post and has fine litterbox habits. Siblings available.

This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax, and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Calicos and Siamese are $250+tx.

If you are gone 7 or more hours a day, please consider adopting two cats, as one cat usually gets bored. Two cats are easier to care for than one (they self-entertain while you are at work), and they are emotionally healthier (don’t get lonely and bored).
