Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Maya, the ultimate ray of sunshine in fur form! Despite a rough start—left tied up and abandoned outside our shelter—Maya's spirit shines brighter than ever. This lovable girl is all about spreading joy and wagging tails wherever she goes! Maya's playful antics are bound to bring a smile to your face, especially when she's zooming around or diving headfirst into a pile of stuffed toys. But when it's time to unwind, she's your go-to cuddle buddy for Netflix marathons and lazy afternoons on the couch. Maya loves to give hugs and cuddle up as close as possible to her people. She's got the whole 'good dog' routine down to a tee—housebroken, leash-trained, and ready to charm the socks off anyone she meets. While Maya's cool with other pups, she's dreaming of a home where she can bask in all the love as the one and only fur baby. Maya is around 2 years old, weighing in at a perfect 51 lbs. Adopting Maya isn't just about giving her a home, it's about inviting a bundle of joy into your life, a friend who'll make every day brighter. More about this shelter
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.
APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
