Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Denali! Denali is very much your typical golden. He LOVES meeting new people and dogs, carrying around his favorite toys and soaking up all the attention he can get.
Denali has had a very rough past, but you would hardly be able to tell with how goofy and happy he always is! He came from a backyard breeder situation, and he was kept outside only. He was abused, starved and had various health issues that were not being tended to. He came to us with a large, infected tumor on the top of his head. He also had serious skin infections and was heartworm positive. Needless to say, this poor boy has definitely been through it. He is so ready to find a new home that is able to love and spoil him!
Denali would do well in almost any home. He would love a fenced yard, however this is not required. He does love the company of other dogs, but as long as he has lots of attention and squeaky toys, he will be as happy as can be. Due to his past, he does have some issues with guarding food (from dogs, not humans). This is something that needs to be kept in mind if there is another pup in the home. Other than this food guarding, he is the absolute sweetest and best behaved boy!
Denali is currently finishing up his heartworm treatment, which means his adopters will have to abide by his current treatment plan. His exercise must be limited for the next 9mths. He is not able to go on strenuous hikes or run around for too long. He will need one final blood draw in 9mths to confirm his heartworm negative status. This limited exercise is an absolute must to ensure his heartworm injections continue to work effectively!
Does Denali sound like a good fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!
