Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Misty is a sweet, 3 years old beagle mix. She has so many good qualities and is looking for her furever family!
She’s really good with other dogs, loves to play with toys, play tug, and is very gentle. She often rolls on her back and wiggles around! She loves to play with both people and dogs!
She’s gentle with her mouth when playing and taking treats!
She’s very food motivated, and it is easy to grab her attention in any situation with food!
She walks nicely and greets other dogs well on the leash!
She’s doing wonderfully with her potty training, and hasn’t had any accidents since the second week we’ve had her home, even when we’ve been away from home for almost 2 hours.
She’s a healthy girl! She has had all of her age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed and microchipped and got an A+ from her vet with her bloodwork. Her eyes are a bit cloudy, due to overexposure to the sun in the mountain streets of Monte Verde, Costa Rica, but the veterinarian said that there is nothing to be done and that it does not cause her pain or disability. We did purchase her UV goggles to protect her eyes on mountain hikes and when laying in the sun for long periods of time. Right now she can wear them for a short duration and we’ve been working with her on increasing her tolerance to them for longer periods of time.
She’s very resilient, resourceful and confident. She’s also very intelligent and learns quickly!
As she has settled, her personality and confidence has bloomed. She’s started putting herself to bed when she’s ready, heading upstairs and curling up in her bed.
She’s happy to sleep beside you and snuggle, sleep at your feet, or curl up in her bed while you hang out and sleep!
In Costa Rica, she was in the crate in the car, and occasionally slept in her crate in the hotels. We haven’t had to have her crated since, but she’s able to be successfully crate trained.
She knows her name, how to Sit, Down, Touch (nose targeting skill), and is working on Watch Me & Wait. She’s really good at checking in on walks and is slowly getting used to the house routine.
She has a LOT of love to give.
We are offering 2 In-Home Training sessions with you and Misty to provide you the skills to help her transition into your home successfully! This covers 2x 40mi round trips from 80012 and 2 hours of training (1 hour each).
Just like any dog transitioning from being a stray to being in a home, she does need gentle guidance for what is expected of her. Every home has different expectations! With your guidance and love, she will settle into being your best friend and companion.
