Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Friday's Backstory:
He is an example of what many call a "pandemic puppy." Born during the pandemic, he was bred to keep people company while they were working and schooling at home. Now that people are going back to work, these young and healthy dogs are getting dropped off at animal shelters that euthanize due to lack of space. We stepped up to help Friday to give him the chance he deserves!
Breed and Hair Notes:
Friday has hair that grows and not fur. He is a stunning blend of Shih Tzu and possibly Lhasa Apso and Poodle with an adorable fluff. PLEASE NOTE: his hair will grow indefinitely, and he will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost that these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care.
Get to Know Friday:
Friday is new to our rescue, but since day one, he shows love to everyone. He seems to love all people and dogs. He is gentle and kind. He loves hanging out with his foster family and his fellow foster dogs.
Friday also loves a good walk, and he enjoys them daily. Please plan on giving this to him as he looks forward to them so very much!
Friday is approximately 2 to 5 years at the oldest. He is about 14 pounds. He is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is currently being taught to go potty indoors on potty pads. He goes outside during walks, too.
Ideal Home:
Friday will thrive in a home where someone works from home, they can take him to work, or is retired with lots of energy for daily walks. He is a companion animal in the truest sense of the word. He just wants to be with you!
If you expect to put Friday in a crate at all during the day or night, please do not apply. He will do best in a home where he can hang out with his people during the day and sleep with them or near them at night.
Friday can successfully be in a home where he is the only dog, provided he was able to see other dogs from time to time.He lives in a foster home with multiple dogs, enjoying the company of smaller, quieter dogs.
Because of his gentleness, he would be okay around children who were taught how to respect and touch a dog under supervision. Loving teenagers would be ideal.
Can you imagine spending your days with this sweet and gentle boy? If you do, we look forward to receiving your adoption application!
