Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nemo, our 10 pound 13 year old chihuahua mix, was stray in Portland and found himself at the shelter. Being a delicate little guy, Nemo was terrified, but the shelter staff could tell there was a sweet dog underneath the shut down exterior. When they reached out for help, we happily took Nemo in.
Nemo had only a few teeth remaining, and the ones he had were painful and infected. We extracted his teeth making him much happier, and Nemo eats softened food just fine. The surgery had the added benefit creating the perfect blep.
A dream on a leash, Nemo lives for walks. He'd love a yard that he could sunbathe in and explore. Nemo is a master snuggler and lives to be pet. He is very polite to people and dogs that he meets (although sometimes a little excited on a leash). Nemo would do great with another confident dog friend. Nemo has minor handling sensitivities around his ears and feet, so we don't think he would like to live with little kids. He also scares easily with loud noises, so would do best in a quiet, laid back home. Nemo would like a bit of comfy couch to snooze on for most of the day. He is quiet and potty trained. We have not introduced Nemo to cats, but could arrange a meet if his ideal home had a future feline friend.
Nemo is heartworm negative, current on his flea and heartworm preventatives, has had normal senior blood work and is microchipped.
Toothless senior snuggly dogs are truly the best. We know you agree. Give Nemo the retirement home he deserves; apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
