My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wilder is an absolute sweetheart, and just look at that gorgeous face! This charming purebred Border Collie was surrendered to us by a breeder when he was much younger.

He spent his last 5 months living with what we thought would be his forever family. He was living happily in his home, unfortunate circumstances led to his return. Now, Wilder is on a quest for love and a forever family who will cherish him!

As a true herder at heart, Wilder showcases all the delightful traits of a Border Collie. He loves to herd the dogs in his foster home, and he might even give a playful nip to booties and heels as he tries to gather everyone together!

While with the breeder he wasn't socialized during those crucial early weeks of his life, Therefore, he can be a bit shy when meeting new people and unfamiliar situations. But don't worry-Wilder has been made great strides building his confidence!

Once Wilder warms up to you, he transforms into the sweetest companion you could ask for. He absolutely adores attention and is a fantastic playmate, especially for puppies, as he thrives in a dog-friendly environment. He's currently living in one of our busiest foster homes, so he's well-socialized with other dogs and just loves their company!

Wilder is both crate trained and housetrained, but keep in mind that he's used to having a doggie door for easy outdoor access. If he doesn't have one, he will need a gentle reminder to "hold it" until he can get outside.

One important thing to know: Wilder must have a friendly, playful dog buddy in his new home! He would not thrive in a household without a canine companion. Wilder may not do well in a home with small kids or too many strangers visiting, as he prefers a calmer environment where he can feel safe and loved.

This sweet boy is just waiting for the right family to scoop him up and give him the love he deserves! If you're ready to provide a forever home for this adorable herder, Wilder would be over the moon!
