My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Terrier mix. Owner surrendered for chasing livestock, cats and small dog. No cats, chickens, or cattle. He is great on leash and in car. Likes kids and bigger dogs. On 9/21 Orion came back to us due to his owner's health. She describes him as a wonderful dog that appears to like other dogs. He played with a smaller dog with no problems. He is a loud player but is harmless. He has a new name, Shadow, which he knows. He knows commands, shake, sit, lay. He loves to cuddle and thinks he is much smaller as he tries to sit on your lap. He is very trainable. If Shadow is the kind of companion you are looking for then come and meet him at the Eastbourne Animal Center. Open Wed-Saturday 11-5 and Sunday 11-4.

More about this shelter

A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the County by raising funds to build a new facility for our animals. It is called the Eastbourne Animal Center and has now replaced the old Monroe County Animal Shelter. They provide volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
