My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brie! This lovable goofball will steal your heart with her wagging tail and those irresistible brown puppy-dog eyes! If you're in need of a walking partner, look no further than Brie. She's a three-year-old 56 lb. Pitty mix who adores going for walks, playing fetch until she's completely worn out, and frolicking in the garden hose before rolling around on the grass. Brie simply adores her humans and is friendly to everyone she meets. At home, she'll happily stick by your side, soaking up all the love and attention you can give her. While she loves being with her family at all times, she's also content to retreat to her crate for a snooze when she's tired, as long as she's still within sight of her humans.

Despite being deaf, you'd never guess it with Brie. She's incredibly smart and capable, able to do anything hearing dogs can do. Her other senses have compensated for her lack of hearing, and she excels at understanding hand signals and feeling vibrations. Plus, she's a silent hero—no barking when the doorbell rings, perfect for those who work from home! Brie's ideal family should have experience with active breed dogs, as she's likely mixed with Dalmatian or a herding breed. A backyard is a definite plus for her energetic nature.

Brie loves to play with other dogs, preferably those of similar size. However, she's not suited for households with small pets, cats, or farm animals due to her strong herding instinct. She thrives with canine companions of a calm temperament who can guide her and show her the ropes. Brie is truly a gem and is sure to make a wonderful addition to her forever family!

More about this rescue

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
