Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet sweet, handsome Tuna (aka Tuna Melt), a young, Flame Point Siamese with blue eyes (that are slightly crossed), a thick, muscular body, big paws and an a "regal" appearance.
We have no way of knowing how he ended up outside, fending for himself - when he showed up in the back yard of one of our adopter's homes... hungry, thin and a little skittish. The young couple contacted me, immediately, because their property juts up against a hill where coyotes regularly hunt.
They came over to borrow a humane trap and a lesson on how to use it. Within 24 hours, they had him... just in the nick of time, too! Upon reviewing their security camera footage, they saw a coyote sniffing around on their deck chair, where Tuna had been sleeping each night.
When he first arrived at our rescue, he was confused and a little on the defensive side... as if someone had teased or tormented him. He seemed wary of trusting us human types, unsure how to interact.
But with patience, TLC and trust exercises, that has all changed! Tuna has miraculously transformed into a gentle, loving boy who craves human contact and can even be a little needy, at times.
He's the kind of cat who'll run to greet you the moment you walk in the door, giving head butts, rubbing against your legs while chatting up a storm. He is smart and food-motivated which would make him an ideal candidate to be trained. He's also affectionate, inquisitive, smart and highly-social. He doesn't like to be left alone so would do best in a home with at least one, other, friendly feline. We don't know how he would be around a cat-loving doggo, but suspect he'd be fine - with proper introductions.
You'll find his complete rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #31 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" as well as video updates on his amazing progress. Be sure to check out his adoption video uploaded here!

** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair!
