Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Black & white bicolor, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 9/11/20, #18651
Other cats: needs to be only cat Dogs: unknown Children: likely okay w/gentle kids
Pawnee was found as a very small kitten in Iran by some cat-loving rescuers, and though he was safe and loved in his rotating foster homes, a permanent home just wasn’t presenting itself. When there was an opportunity for him to come to the USA on a flight with some other animal rescues, Pawnee was on board, and local connections in our area then brought him into the Rescue House family.
Pawnee is an adorable guy with a broad distinguished face and a cute little nose smudge. This friendly fellow is happy to meet new people and in his apartment-style foster home he would even run to the screen door to say hello to the neighbors as they came home from work! Pawnee spends a lot of his time lounging in arm’s reach for petting, watching the birds on Kitty TV, or cuddling with his foster parent, though he will disappear when he feels the need for a hard-core nap—Pawnee prefers cozy hidden nooks for those. As he settles into a new place, he gets more playful, and enjoys long wand-type toys the most. He is very food-motivated, and it is at those times that Pawnee gets vocal: all previous meals conveniently forgotten, he focuses on the now… don’t you know he’s starving?! Once breakfast or dinner is sorted out, Pawnee is back to cuddling… he will make his forever family so very happy!
Pawnee needs to be your solo kitty love. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs though suspect he may be okay with less-energetic ones if given a proper introduction. While we have not observed Pawnee with children, his patient people-loving nature suggests he will welcome gentle love and care from all ages.
Pawnee has traveled a long way to find his forever home, and he is hoping it is with YOU!
While healthy, Pawnee has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. If a cat has previously been vaccinated for FIV, the kitty will test positive even if the virus is not present. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
