Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brooklyn is 8 years old and has been in a shelter for 6 of them. Prior to that, she lived on a chain in a back yard. After her owner was arrested and she was left with no care, she managed to break the chain. An animal control officer brought her to the shelter. This black and white elegant beauty does not deserve to spend the remainder of her life there. In spite of everything, she has not lost her innate love of humans. While Brooklyn is small in size at about 35 pounds, she has a big heart. She loves all people, big and small. She is warm and tender and enjoys a good cuddle while keeping you company on the couch. At 8, she has lost all her exuberant puppy energy, but still enjoys going for walks and exploring new surroundings. Her owner will enjoy them too as she is already leash trained. Brooklyn enthusiastically plays in the yard. A perfect day would be waking up with you, a ride to the park for a long walk followed by a nap on the couch or in front of a window in the sun. Brooklyn is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, and spayed. Brooklyn is house trained. Brooklyn is accustomed to a fenced yard, but quick to learn commands such as recall training. Due to her long time in the shelter, she can be reactive to strange dogs, and would be happiest as an only animal. She is looking for her understanding person or persons to whom she will be forever grateful and loyal. Brooklyn has been enjoying several doggie days out with her soon to be foster family. She is a couch potato, and loves to just cuddle.
Brooklyn is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.
