My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grant is the bougiest dog we've ever had but he's also going to make someone an amazing heart dog. He is loved by all the volunteers and is a favorite of many, they have spoiled him into being particular about his food, loving walks, car rides and chicky nuggies...

Grant's journey with us started when he was rescued by TPBP after being reported as a stray in Prosser for 3 weeks. We were able to contain him and get him some help with his badly matted coat (which is growing back in nicely now). He is a handsome 2-year-old male Chow Shepherd mix, looking for his forever home!

Grant is a sweet and friendly boy, although he might be a bit shy when you first meet him. He has successfully completed a transformative 6-week board and train program with Jory Canine LLC to help him relax around humans. Grant walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs, although he tends to bark at them. Cats are unknown. He thrives on positive reinforcement and values praise, making him an eager learner and a delightful addition to any family.

Grant is a vocal pup, especially when left alone in a crate or kennel, so he would do best in a home where he's not left alone for extended periods. He enjoys the company of his human and will follow them around once he warms up. While he may not be an instant cuddler, his loyalty runs deep, and he'll undoubtedly become your shadow, following your every step. He's willing to build a bond with patient and understanding adopters. Thankfully for his thick fur he tolerates baths and brushing, but nail trims might require an experienced groomer's touch.

Grant's ideal home would be one where he isn't left unattended in a yard or outdoor kennel, as he may try to dig out. Due to his shyness, he would do best in a home with kids aged 10 and above; younger children might be too overwhelming for his personality.

Grant is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is currently located in Tricities Washington. His adoption fee is $400.

Additional adoption info

We take applications, do home checks, adoptions are only final when the dog/puppy has received all shots and been spayed/neutered and micro chipped.

We guarantee our dogs/puppies are a good fit or we take them back. We'll need time to arrange a foster for them because another dog will fill their spot after 1 week.
All adopters must comply with any requirements from city, county or home owners association. Adopters agree to never perform body modifications such as ear cropping, tail docking unless medically necessary.
Our adoption fees can be found at thepitbullpen.org
