My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From and SMC student who spent some time with Linda, `Linda is a dog who could fit in well with any family- she will happily play for hours or just relax with you. Linda loves tennis balls— she will happily play fetch with you until she drops, but she is also happy just laying around with her tennis ball in her mouth. In a room full of toys, she would choose the tennis ball every time! She knows a couple of tricks and is very motivated to show them off when you are holding treats or a toy she likes. She is also an interactive dog who loves to have someone or something to play with, and she is happy to socialize with other dogs. Linda does enjoy her space as well, when given a chance, Linda loves to find a good spot to lay and relax, often with her tennis ball by her side. Linda is a fun, affectionate, and attention-loving dog. She would be an amazing addition to a home and is an absolute joy to be around!`

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to look for your new pet at the SHS!

There are always many wonderful and loving animals available for adoption. Dogs and cats are most common, but small animals, like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters, as well as large animals, like horses, are also in need of a new home.

We are open six days a week, making it convenient for you to stop by for a visit.

Why adopt from the SHS?

The Spartanburg community continues to produce many thousands of unwanted animals every year.

As the only open admission animal shelter in the county, the Adopt Your New Best Friend! SHS provides for the temporary needs of these pets. But we need your help to provide them with permanent homes!

Adoption fees offer incredible value at $85 for dogs and $49 for cats. These fees include spay or neuter surgery, permanent microchip identification, as well as many other perks.

We also offer low-cost veterinary services for adopters. In other words, we are committed to your match being a success!

Just as importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to give a loving animal a much deserved second chance.

Remember, you will need some supplies for your new pet. You can purchase much of what you will need at the Spartanburg Humane Society Save-A-Pet Store, and all proceeds benefit the homeless animals in our care.
