Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to introduce Wilbur the miracle dog. We have seen all types of dogs over the 20 years of operating Saint Cloud’s Rescue. We see healthy dogs, loved dogs, needy dogs, skinny dogs, and sick dogs. But we have never seen a dog that has been shot with two 9-millimeter bullets and survived. Wilbur is one of the most gorgeous Saints we have ever had. He was a stray that we received from an animal shelter. We knew he needed to be neutered, and during the neuter process we knew he had a lump on his chest bone area under his neck. Then we and the Veterinarian decided we would wait to take care of that and complete it during the neuter process. Once they opened the hard knot area the size of about a quarter, they found a 9-millimeter bullet. Luckily, it did not do any internal damage. We also had his whole body x-rayed to see if there was damage that would be expected from another shot. In his spine there is one vertebra gone which the Veterinarian believes was due to another bullet that did enter and exit this boy’s body. We are very proud and pleased to show Wilbur as our miracle dog that is so gorgeous and is so gentle for the most part. He is current on all vaccinations, neutered and heart worm negative. He is a little reluctant to meet new people and would do better having a harness on him versus a collar and lead. His eyes are breathtakingly beautiful, and they look so human. You would have to wonder how he survived and is doing so well being shot with 2 different bullets. Wilbur weighs approximately 115 and is approximately 2 years old.
In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. This is due to the large size of Saint Bernards and the safety of your children. Our Saint Bernards are not aggressive or mean in any way, they can just knock down children easily. If you would like to visit our pups please contact St. Cloud's Rescue at www.stcloudsrescue.org or call 972-679-5319. The first step in adopting from St. Cloud's Rescue is to complete an application. The application may be found OUR WEBSITE at www.stcloudsrescue.org. Please click on the application process, complete and then email it. Once the application has been sent please call us to confirm that we have received it. St.Cloud's Rescue maintains the right to deny applications to anyone for any reason we see fit. St. Cloud Rescue is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization. St. Clouds Rescue requires new owners to purchase a one year supply of heart worm preventative from us, which is at cost. We require a home visit prior to all placements. All our dogs must be microchipped at a cost of $20.00. There is a $350.00 donation fee. All dogs adopted through St Clouds Rescue must be indoors. St. Bernards can not tolerate the Texas heat.
