Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's no dog who loves tumbling, bounding fun more than Houndour! Houndour is an energetic guy, who is curious about the world around him. As a true hound, he loves to explore the world through his nose, but as soon as you call, he'll come running back to seek affection. He is the best play-group buddy, and enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes: big and small. We think he will thrive in a home with other canine friends. We also think Houndour would be the perfect dog for those who travel on the road frequently. He has been to plenty of our adoption events, so he's an expert at meeting new human friends, though we can't promise he won't "love-tackle" you.
Love-tackle (v.): a CASPCA term used to describe the good-est of boys, characterized by face-licks, happy barks, and trying to get as close as he can to you!
After some time to play, Houndour will happily settle down for an afternoon snooze. Treats are the key to Houndour's heart, and will do great learning in a patient home. Come meet this special guy at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA today! We are open Tuesday-Friday 12-6PM and Saturday-Sunday 12-5PM for walk-ins, no appointment required. You can also call us at (434)-973-5959 to learn more about him!
