Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm a rescue success story and with a dedicated advocate seeing to it that I receive the best care... I'm recovering fast and thriving! I will scheduled for neuter and I am looking for a foster as well as adopter!
Through it all, I still trust humans.
I get along well with my foster's entire barnyard menagerie including turkeys, goats, chickens, pea fowl, cats, and dogs.
You can read my initial story below.
This pup has been 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 starved, then dumped next to a major road in Albuquerque right before the morning rush hour. A recently-widowed young mother stopped to help, and I bet you can guess the rest.
When I say 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥 I mean 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙙 - this dog has zero flesh, he's so weak he can barely lift his head up. 𝙃𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣❜𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚.
I've got him propped up on a bed, with a belly wrap and diaper, and emergency vet appointment in t-minus 2.5 hours. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, it's going to be days (𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵) before he can even try to stand on his own power, and walking is going to require the assistance of a sling. In the meantime, he is going to need IV fluids, IV nutrition, and a carefully-fed diet to help his organs and digestive system function.
Pedro also received a blood transfusion from his advocate's dog name Boo and it likely saved his live as his red blood cell count was so low it did not register on the lab test.
