Tall dog fans, come meet Ace! This 1-year-old German Shepherd mix is tall, handsome, and tons of fun. Ace is looking for an active family who can give him plenty of daily exercise, play, and mental enrichment. He will make an awesome hiking partner, though with his long legs he`ll be able to scale the trails easier than you! Ace is looking to be the only dog in his new home. He hasn`t lived with cats before and any introductions to resident felines should be done very slowly. Because Ace is a big puppy, he can sometimes play rowdy and will likely do best with just dog-experienced teens and adults. Ace is not a fit for an apartment or condo and would love a fenced back yard to run around! If you`re ready to welcome home this great guy, make an adoption appointment today!

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

First visit our website, www.homewardpet.org, to see all available pets. There, set an appt to visit the shelter or apply for fostered pets.

2.
Interview

For fostered pets only, if your application is first in line, we'll schedule time for you to speak with an Adoption Specialist.

3.
Meet the Pet

During your visit, the Adoption Specialist can introduce you to any of our available animals. Foster animals will be brought to the shelter.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If it's a match when you meet, you'll sign our adoption contract, pay an adoption fee and take your new friend home!

Homeward Pet Adoption Center does adoptions by appointment. Please visit www.homewardpet.org to view all of our Available animals and make an appointment.

For pets noted to be in foster, you'll instead fill out an application in their profile. You'll be emailed a link to speak by phone with an Adoption Specialist.

We will share with you all the information we have regarding an animal's history, health and behavior, and work with you to make a great match for your family.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center is a private, non-profit animal shelter. With medical and behavior staff on-site, we are on the leading edge of animal welfare, using Fear Free Sheltering techniques, positive training and enrichment to provide the best care we can to our cats and dogs. All of our animals receive a comprehensive health exam, and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and given flea preventative and dewormer prior being available for adoption.
