Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet INKY!!! Our absolute staff favorite at the rescue! (Shhhh... don't tell the others!) This sweet boy is approaching 3 years old and has been with us for over a year. We truly don't know how he's still here because he is everything you could ever ask for in a dog.
Inky has a personality that shines brighter than the rest. His sweet kisses and loving nature will steal your heart instantly-he craves your affection in the most endearing, non-demanding way. Despite his relatively large size (he's a big boy at 65lbs!) His soul is pure love and kindness, and everyone who meets him falls for his charming and affectionate demeanor.
He's 100% house-trained and in all his time with us, he has never had a single accident-he's always clean and has never made a mess! Inky has truly impressed us with how polite and well-mannered he is.
We can't understand why he's still waiting for his forever family. Someone out there is really missing out on the most affectionate, lovable dog with the best hugs and kisses.
Inky is great with most of other dogs (prefers females), loves kids, and is great with everyone he meets. He loves outings and events, and is always a hit! While he enjoys his life here at the rescue, he deserves to know a life beyond the kennel walls-filled with love, adventure, and a family of his own.
Are you the one to finally give Inky the home he's been waiting for?
Requirements for adoption:
A home check
Vet references showing up-to-date vaccinations and wellness care
Other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered
Adoption fee: $250
If you meet these requirements and want to meet this incredible boy, please apply at PawsFurRecovery.org. We'll process your application within 3 days and reach out if you're a match!

Thank you for considering the adoption of a rescue. Before you decide to adopt a pet, please consider the effort and funds necessary to properly maintain an animal. Responsible pet ownership requires a commitment to provide care and companionship for the life of the animal. The decision to adopt a pet is an important one. In order to ensure that you and your pet will be happy for years to come, we need to take time to discuss your animal and your individual needs and personality traits. Please take a few moments to carefully read and complete this questionnaire. Please note there are no wrong answers, but honesty is the best answer for all involved. This is to ensure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you and your family.
Please note: Completion of this application does not guarantee adoption. If you do not own your own home - Paws Fur Recovery will need to contact your landlord or HOA to verify that you are allowed to have pets. We will also need to perform an in-person house check to verify that your home is suitable for pets (enough space, fenced in yard, etc). We will need to meet all residents of your home, including any adults, children, pets both inside & out - to make sure your home is suitable for the dog you are seeking to adopt. This is not an exhaustive list of requirements. Every dog's situation is different and every adoption will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of a Paws Fur Recovery representative.

More about this rescue
Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs stuck in high kill shelters that are at risk of euthanasia. At the same time we strive to empower our volunteers who are all recovering addicts and alcoholics.
Paws Fur Recovery aims to promote these benefits for our dogs and volunteers:
○ Encourages positive change and a sense of purpose
○ Increases self-esteem.
○ Teaches trust again
○ Promotes responsibility and accountability
○ Decreases anxiety and depression in both the addict and the dog
○ Provides socialization for both the addict and the dog
○ Creates a symbiotic relationship of unconditional love and acceptance
Certain dogs at the shelter have stories that every recovering addict knows all too well: They have been abandoned, alone, afraid, abused, unwanted and misunderstood. They are powerless over their current circumstances and must rely on a power greater than themselves to help them.
We can relate, and we are here to help. We know firsthand about the gift of a second chance. We are passionate about rescuing these forgotten dogs. We help them recover and find their way to homes where they will finally know what it’s like to feel safe and loved.
