My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Husky mix Canelo, born April 2023 is looking for a home. His mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. Relieved to be safe and fed, he then endured a hurricane and survived the damage to his shelter. He sure would love a happy break coming his way in the way of a loving family.

Canelo eats voraciously – making up for lost time, and likes to do so solo. He is expected to grow to 55 – 60 lbs and would love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies. He enjoys the beach and some rough and tumble play time with his siblings. He is timid around strange dogs but befriends them. He is spending his early life in the sanctuary so he’ll be looking for a helping hand in adjusting to a real home with love and cuddles.
