My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Winston is ready to meet his forever family in Colorado. He is smart, eager to please, with the best smile and the softest low shed coat. Happy to chill or play. He loves to go for walks, lives for car rides, and is a gold medalist in the cuddle department. He is low energy for a young dog! He's around 1.5 years old/60lbs. He's an American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier. (DNA test conducted).
Winston was found dumped on the side of the road in Memphis. He was mistreated and weighed half his current body weight. When we found this sweet boy, he was too weak to stand for long periods of time and was scared of the world. We nursed him back to health, building his confidence, and showering him with the love he deserves.
Things Winston's new family needs to know: Would likely do best in an adult only family with a fenced yard or someone committed to his enrichment and exercise. He does have a history of getting along with dogs, but he has not been tested with cats, but when he's the only pup in the house he thrives. Even with other dogs around he wants to interact and engage with the humans. He is food/treat motivated. When he loves you he will love you with his whole heart. He is great on walks but does pull when he gets excited.... which we have been making a lot of progress on. 95% perfect 5% not. Experiences some separation anxiety, has never been destructive just vocal. Mr. Winston is as silly as he is cute. He is super happy to just chill with his family and doesn't need to be constantly moving. He is going through individual training classes (9 to start) at Mountain Paws Dog Training that will be transferred to new owner. Comes with crate, toys, bed, and everything else we have bought for him.

Winston is fostered in Colorado Springs, CO.
