Hello, I'm Goldie, as you can see from my gorgeous color. I am an almost 2 year old female Staffordshire terrier. I am very shy at first, once I meet you I love getting pets and rubs. I know my basic commands, like "sit". Please don't judge me from seeing me in the kennel. I am anxious in the kennel, when I am taken out you can see my true reserved personality. Outside of the kennel I am calm, relaxed, and gentle. I have gone on walks with other dogs and have done well, I actually like the company of other dogs. I also have been around the cats at the shelter, and they don't seem to bother me. I would love for you to take my home with you. The Adoption Counselors will review your application and if approved will contact you to pay an adoption hold fee to reserve the animal.

All adopters need an appointment to meet the pet due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thank you for choosing adoption! We hope that you will find a pet that will become a long time member of your family! Currently we are open to visitors and adopters via appointments only. The Adoption Counselors can schedule a time to visit after reviewing your accepted application. Please visit our website to see the pets profile and apply for them electronically. All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, have rabies and distemper shots (age appropriate), and are de-wormed and microchipped. he Humane Society of Charles County (HSCC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that relies completely on private donations and its own fundraising abilities to operate. We do not receive any federal, state or government funding or any funds from any national animal welfare organizations to operate.

The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home.
