My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello world, I'm Megalodon! Or as my foster parent's call me, MegaMan. I am the sweetest stripey guy you'll probably ever encounter. From day one I was fully myself. I've never had an issue expressing my personality and I probably never will. I weigh 10 lbs, so am a purrrfect size kitty, if I do say so myself!

I am a TALKER. If you're looking for a good boy with a lot to say, look no further! I will announce myself when I come into the room, if I want to tell you a story, or if I think I might need a treat or dinner. My foster parents like to think that I'm telling them about my day when they get home from work.

I LOVE getting pets! My favorites are belly rubs and chin scratches. You read that correctly, I love belly rubs. I wasn't kidding when I said I'm the sweetest guy! When my foster parents come up to me I will flop over and show my belly just so they know I'm open to pets. I'm not super snuggly yet but you'll find me sleeping near my foster parents as much as possible.

In general, I'm just an all around happy kitty and I enjoy running around with my cat friends, playing with toys, and getting love from humans. I also love to watch the birds outside and catch that crazy red dot that shows up in the house sometimes!

It only took me a day to acclimate to my foster home even though there were two other resident cats. I am definitely not shy and will love any other companions in the home. Even if they don't quite love me back yet!

I'm a champion eater and litter box user. I've never had an issue and will never miss out on a meal or treat. My foster parents have even taught me some basic tricks because they figured out pretty quickly that I'm very very smart and food motivated.

I would do best with another cat in the home, but I would probably be fine on my own as well. I play nice and know my place when I'm coming into a new environment.

The only thing that I don't enjoy is being held/picked up. My foster mom can pick me up and I will comply but it is for very short periods of time. It's just not my cup of tea right now! If I want to be in your lap or to sit with you, I will make it known and initiate it myself.

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

For more information on fostering or adoptable animals, please visit https://www.thebondbetween.org.

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
