Lucky Shedd has been in foster for a little over a year now and her foster mom says she is a joy! She has been the sweetest companion, loves cuddling and snuggling up in bed at night or on the couch on a lazy day, but also never turns down a game of fetch or play time.
Lucky is always very welcoming to any people we have over, whether it's her first time meeting them or they're a trusted friend of hers. Lucky would be best suited to a home with no other pets where she is the only child and gets all the love and attention she needs and deserves. She is completely non-destructive in the home, and very well potty-trained, crate-trained, and muzzle-trained.
One of the staff who is Luckys biggest fan, recently babysat her and had the following to say: "Lucky Shedd is an absolute dream boat in the home, Her biggest obstacle is she truly needs to be a single pet. As far as in home she is low to medium energy and is great at self entertaining but does enjoy short spurts of fetch. She is a complete water baby. On walks she wears a muzzle as a protective tool for her since there are so many off leash dogs in the city. She does really well with putting it on and wearing it anytime she leaves the house. Inside she is a pro at crate time and potty trained. If someone had a privacy fence I would say she is the easiest dog ever. Walks are really the most complicated part of daily life. She normally just gets walked at odd times. She is good refocusing with the use of treats and changing directions away from other dogs. She loves toys. Knows sit , down , paw ,here, where's lucky (a check in cue), and place.
She is also great at waiting for her meals until she is given the okay."
Lucky Shedd has been with CARE for an extended amount of time and her foster mom is dedicated to helping her find her forever home. She would love to talk to you more about any questions you have about Lucky and to arrange a time for you to meet her!
