Meet Philomena: Your Future Feline Friend

Hello, my name is Philomena. My foster family says I'm a pretty lady with a wonderful purr, and I think I believe them. It's been a while since I've had a family, so I'm still learning that people can be kind. I remember having my babies under a brush pile, feeling scared and hungry. My foster family tells me I was a good mama.

I have a lot of love to give, though I'm still figuring out how to show it. I like to hide under the bed and explore the house a bit at night. Once I'm settled, I'll cuddle up with you. I love it when my foster dad brings me dinner and pets me while I eat. I've even made friends with his cat! It took some time, but we get along well now.

Recently, I've decided that being held is okay, though only for short periods. I'd love a quiet home where loud noises and sudden movements are rare. I'm not a fan of small children, but I don't mind dogs as long as they give me space. Other cats are fine if they let me get to know them slowly.

I'm okay being alone during the day. While I'm still a bit scared, I'm willing to try new things! I need someone with love, patience, and good noms (I love fish).

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.

Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
