Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Texas, a medium-sized dog with a heart full of loyalty and affection, is the embodiment of charm and unique quirks that make him a truly unforgettable companion. His journey began at PAWS in August 2020, where his gentle demeanor and stunning appearance quickly won hearts, leading to his adoption just a couple of months later. However, due to unforeseen financial issues, Texas was sadly returned to the shelter almost three years later.
Texas is now a long stay at PAWS, but his story has taken a positive turn. He's currently in a committed foster home, where he's thriving and has proven to be an exceptional companion, especially with the cats in his foster family. His foster family has had nothing but praise for Texas, highlighting his seamless transition into their home and the bond they have formed.
Texas' personality is a unique blend of affection and quirks. While he can be fearful of men, he just needs a bit more time and patience to get comfortable around them. In fact, he loves his current foster dad! His love for human affection shines through as he eagerly cozies up in laps and showers his loved ones with endless cuddles. His endearing bond with cats makes him an ideal match for households with feline companions. Texas is selective with other dogs and has had a few past dog friends, though he'd probably be better suited as the only dog in the home.
Housebroken, well-behaved, and incredibly smart, Texas knows multiple commands such as "sit" and "lay down." His love for water adds a fun twist to his daily routine, and he thrives in environments with plenty of space to explore. He is not suited for homes with small children, but his loyalty and affection make him a cherished member of the family, perfect for those seeking a devoted companion.
