What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We've been told Mama Kitty used to belong to one of our neighbors, but that she was tossed out. We're not sure why, but we speculate it was because she was no longer a cute kitten and once she became in heat, she was too much of a nuisance. Instead of spending money to get her fixed or finding her a new home, they Instead disowned her.
As a result she became pregnant multiple times and sprouted an entire colony in our neighborhood. This all happened before we moved in. When we found her, she was nothing but skin and bones with her kittens sucking what little nutrients she had left out of her. We got her fixed along with the rest of the colony and over time she has become full and healthy.
Mama Kitty has had a hard life and we think she deserves a forever home. We would prefer if Mama was adopted with her son who she has a special bond with, but we are now willing to adopt them out separately.
