Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Do you remember Misty's story?
She was that sweet, quiet little girl Jenni rescued from Devore shelter last October. Misty's early days were spent alone in a dusty backyard, her small world defined by a collar that was never loosened as she grew. It dug into her skin so deeply that it eventually split and became embedded, causing her constant pain. Left tethered and neglected, flies bit at her ears. Misty's life in that yard was full of suffering, with no one to protect her-and yet she somehow endured.
One day, her owner decided she was no longer needed and abandoned her far from the only "home she knew. Can you imagine how scared she must have been? First, she was used to make puppies, then removed from the relative safety of her yard, and finally, thrown into a world she knew nothing about!
Luckily, Misty's journey didn't end there. She found her way to animal control, where she was freed from that cruel collar, and her healing journey began.
Today, Misty is all healed up, inside and out, and is ready for a family who will truly love her. At just three years old, she's blossomed into a mellow girl who enjoys life's slower moments. She's a bit of a nap enthusiast, choosing calm over chaos and seeking out peaceful places if other huskies get too rowdy. Misty doesn't crave close cuddles but loves gentle attention. After all she's endured, she deserves to set her own pace and take things easy.
We've also learned even more about her over time. Misty has a playful streak-she loves a good game of tag and has a little sass to her. She isn't one to start trouble, but she won't let herself be bossed around either. She's low to mid-energy, has an easy-going temperament, and enjoys belly rubs and back scratches. She even came in underweight but is healthy now and, funnily enough, even needs a bit of a diet!
Misty deserves a family who will give her all the comfort, love, and care she should have had from the beginning-where the only reminders of her past life are a few scars on her ears, a testament to her resilience. If you think you could be the one for her, reach out and let's bring Misty home.

More about this shelter
We are committed and wholeheartedly dedicated to providing family and emergency services involving rescuing, sheltering, fostering, vetting, adoption and transportation of
"at risk" or "death row" husky and other large dog breeds.
Our goal is to not only provide these services in larger facilities than we currently have but also to use our resources to educate and raise public awareness on the benefits of properly caring for and keeping their pets and/or adopting from shelters and not shopping from breeders.
Our mission is to share our knowledge on the pro's of spay and neuter, the cons of backyard breeding and provide sound advice and services that help the community manage their day to day with their furry family members. Together, we can greatly reduce the number of unaltered, unvaccinated animals in our communities and put a dent in the homeless population by providing access to family services as well as spay, neuter and chip id programs.
