My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

By now, many of you have walked the shelters with Jenni. We've been there, watching as she comforts the huskies, telling them it's okay-that she's there to get them out.

We've also seen what it does to her, and to all of us, when we have to leave one behind, even if it's just until their stray hold is up.

Now, imagine pulling all of the huskies out of a California shelter (we've done it before-recently, even) and knowing that one will have to stay behind. He's still adoptable, so he has a chance. But by the next day, he'll be "rescue only, facing potential euthanasia if an adopter or another rescue doesn't step in.

Imagine walking out of that shelter, knowing that if no one claims this husky, he could be gone in one business day.

Fortunately, Bethany and Jenni reached out to Apple Valley and arranged a deal: if no adopters came forward for Aspen by the end of the day, H3 could pull him.

They waited...and no one came for Aspen.

So, here he is-Halfway Home at H3 and ready for his forever family.

Aspen is a cuddly (yes, really!) black-and-white, blue-eyed husky-the very definition of gorgeous. He's about 4 years old and all husky when it comes to antics. That means zero recall but a playful spirit and plenty of love to give. He knows his basic commands...when he feels like it.

This goofy boy has the energy to play, loves naps on a cozy bed, and always goes for the super-crunchy treats. He's great in the pack, though he'll stand up for himself if needed.

A very lucky family is out there waiting for this sweet, snuggly boy. They just needed a little more time to find him.

Apply to adopt Aspen today and show him that he'll never have to be left behind again.

More about this shelter

We are committed and wholeheartedly dedicated to providing family and emergency services involving rescuing, sheltering, fostering, vetting, adoption and transportation of
"at risk" or "death row" husky and other large dog breeds.

Our goal is to not only provide these services in larger facilities than we currently have but also to use our resources to educate and raise public awareness on the benefits of properly caring for and keeping their pets and/or adopting from shelters and not shopping from breeders.

Our mission is to share our knowledge on the pro's of spay and neuter, the cons of backyard breeding and provide sound advice and services that help the community manage their day to day with their furry family members. Together, we can greatly reduce the number of unaltered, unvaccinated animals in our communities and put a dent in the homeless population by providing access to family services as well as spay, neuter and chip id programs.
