Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rubicon was brought to Animal Friends after being found running at large. Even though he's fully grown, he is all puppy at heart--and what a sweet heart he has. Rubicon is a high-energy boy who wants to play and give you a lot of love. We've found him to be incredibly affectionate. Rubicon wants a family who will help teach him manners through positive reinforcement training and leash manners. We recommend that he live in a family with members who are 13 years old and older. The start of his life might have been rough, and now Rubicon deserves the sweet life with a loving family. Due to previous orthopedic injury, Rubicon is unable to live with another dog, and should be the only dog in the home. Interested in this sweet boy?
Rubicon is also a part of our SCI Fayette Training Program, which means he is currently residing off campus at the Fayette State Correctional Institution where he is living with selected inmates. While there, Rubicon enjoys enrichment activities, positive reinforcement and force-free training. Basically, he lives full time with his new best friends and learns manners to better prepare him for you--his future family!
Rubicon is one of Aurora's "Special Canines, meaning that his requested adoption donation has been underwritten and his new family will receive a starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs. This special package is made possible by Aurora's "Special Canines Fund established in honor of a spunky little dog named Aurora to ensure that dogs in our care who are struggling to find a suitable home due to their age, or unique medical or behavior needs are given that extra support.
