This helps Brighter Days Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
**Willow is a board and train dog through Brighter Days. Please read all about this before applying to adopt**
Willow was transported to Brighter Days Dog Resue because she was found as a stray and had clearly never had human contact. When an adult dog comes to us lacking any sort of training we immediately get them into our board and train program. One of the main reasons dogs get euthanized in an overcrowded shelter is due to lack of training. When we started Brighter Days we made a commitment that we would make sure every single Brighter Days Dog would be set up for a life time of success, which includes training. Our trainer works so hard to get these dogs to be wonderful, stable, balanced, obedient, great dogs. To make sure their hard work is not lost over time due to owners who don't continue the training, we require each one of our adopters who is adopting a board and train dog to take our trainers classes in longmont. It is an eight week course that is usually $300, but for Brighter Days adopters it is free!
Willow is a young adult sweet girl from Oklahoma. Willow was found living outside under a barn taking care of her 7 sweet babies. She was so terrified and trying so hard to protect her babies. Her wonderful rescuers were able to trap her and her pups and get them to safety. Once Willow got to a vet we found out she was heart worm positive. Willow has been with us for over a year because she had to go through heart worm treatment, AND learn how to be a dog, once all was said and done.
Willow has been in our board and train program for a long time now and is so, so ready to find her forever family.
Willow is very shy at first but once she warms up she is a cute girl who loves to play with her dog friends and be silly. Willow would do well in a low to moderately active home. She would do well with a 4-legged buddy and we will require she goes to a home with another dog.
