Hope
If you are interested in Adopting Hope PLEASE Go to our Website www.k-9services.net and or Read her Adoption Bio BELOW
Located at Shep Camp in Green Cove Springs, Florida
Age approximately 3 years old, Female, German Shepherd
Fenced in Yard Required
NO RENTAL HOMES
Rescue and Health:
Hope was rescued from a small, over crowded rural, Florida Shelter asking for our Rescue assistance. Hope is Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea, tick, heartworm prevention and she is microchipped.
Hope was abandoned by her former owner when he moved out of State leaving all of his dogs to fend from themselves. Animal neglect and abandonment charges were successfully executed serving the former owner with fines and possible jail time.
Hope was picked up hiding underneath of a house during a bad Hurricane.
Behavior:
Hope is a very shy dog as a result of her traumatic past. Hope also had multiple litters according to our Vet that spayed her. Hope is going to need someone with a lot of patience and ability to provide a quiet, calm, structured home environment.
We thought it was best for Hope to be placed in a foster home setting to address her shyness. Hope is doing very well, playing with the other dogs in the home and following her foster mom, Aggie like her shadow.
It is now time for Hope to find her own, forever home and we hope that this sweet girl can overcome her past by embracing a new future with a loving and supportive companion home.
A Note from Hope's Foster Mom:
My Name is Aggie, I am Hope’s foster mama and would like to share with you an update on this sweet girl. I am amazed to see the transformation from a shut down, depressed, scared dog to a loving, sweet, willing to learn and please, “Foxie” Hope. (She moves around in a fox trot) Hope is learning to trust, she is loving, low key, wants to keep me company and likes to follow me around, when I sit down, she lies down next to me. Hope has learned that our back yard is a safe place where other than bathroom breaks, she can hang out, smell the grass, and enjoy the breeze in her face.
Hope does very well with my two Shepherds Luna and Bruce. I believe that Luna has helped Hope comes out of her shell. Hope follows Luna and likes staying near her. I believe Hope could be happy in a home with another large dog, I am not sure about small animals, although she doesn’t show any aggression / interest in my neighbor’s small dogs while outside. Meeting new people, Hope still gets shy and unsure. If you are interested in adopting Hope, please don’t assume that there will be an instant bond during a “meet and greet”, she may need a little time in a calm home with care and love to start trusting and giving love back. It took her just a few days to show us that she is ready to love and be loved.
Adoption Information:
