My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Simba, the Adventure-Seeking Blue Heeler with a Heart of Gold!

Get ready to embark on the wildest of adventures with Simba, the active and enthusiastic Blue Heeler in search of his forever partner-in-crime! Simba is a true bundle of energy and is always up for exciting escapades. Whether it's long walks, exhilarating hikes, or even a thrilling run, this spirited pup is ready to conquer the world with you!

While Simba may take a little time to warm up, it's worth the wait for this lovable lion-hearted companion. Once you've earned his trust, Simba's loyalty knows no bounds. He'll stick by your side through thick and thin, and his devotion will make you feel like the most special person in the whole wide world.

Now, let's talk about Simba's protective side. Just like the noble king of the jungle, Simba has a strong guard dog instinct. He takes his role as protector seriously and will go to great lengths to ensure your safety. Rest assured, you'll have a fiercely devoted furry friend by your side.

To create the perfect kingdom for Simba, he would thrive in a home without small children. Simba appreciates a calm and understanding environment where his boundaries are respected. This allows him to feel secure and ensures the best possible relationship between Simba and his humans.

Simba's love knows no bounds, and when he bonds with you, get ready for a tidal wave of affection and adoration. He'll be your biggest cheerleader and your most loyal confidant. The bond you'll share with Simba will be one that stands the test of time and fills your life with endless joy.

So, if you're ready to be the ultimate adventure partner for Simba, to share thrilling outdoor expeditions and to witness the depths of his unwavering love, then seize the opportunity now! Apply today, and together, you and Simba can create a legendary tale of friendship, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Note: Simba's heart is as big as the savannah, so be prepared for a love that will make you feel like royalty. Get ready to explore the world with this brave and loyal companion!

More about this rescue

The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout California, through education, adoption services, and providing sanctuary for animals until permanent homes can be found.

Founded in August of 1994, The Milo Foundation Sanctuary is located on two hundred and eighty-three acres in Mendocino County - offering lots of room for the animals to run and play. The Milo Sanctuary animals typically (but not exclusively) are harder to adopt animals and those needing more rural type homes, such as dogs with social or behavioural challenges, feral cats, horses and other farm animals. The Milo Point Richmond Adoption Center is where the majority of our new rescue intake takes place, typically friendly, adoptable cats and dogs, puppies and kittens rescued from shelters where they were facing euthanasia. The Sanctuary is where highly active or reactive dogs can go and have plenty of space, other canine companions (if they are dog friendly) and live in a stress free environment until such time as the right adoption match can be found.

The Milo Sanctuary is what enables Milo to be a No-Kill organization. Milo brings dogs back and forth from the Adoption Center (MPR) to the Sanctuary to give dogs a break from the stresses of the kennel environment and back to MPR later to try again at being adopted. Potential adopters also do come up to the Sanctuary to adopt, by appointment.
