My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I’m Milah!

I’m a pit bull mix, and I have a gorgeous tan and white coat. I’m 4 years old and weigh about 50 pounds. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m also house trained, but I don’t need a crate because I’m a good girl when I’m home alone.

I’m a very energetic and playful girl. I love to run, jump, and chase. I would do best with a fenced backyard and an active family that will exercise me. I also love to play with other dogs and can keep up even if they have a rough and rowdy play style. I’m not cat friendly.

I’m a very sweet and loving girl. I adore children and do very well with smaller kiddos. I like to nibble on people I like. It’s a way I show affection but I can be trained not to do this. I’m not a fan of car rides, because they make me car sick.

I’m a wonderful dog, and I would be a great addition to any family. I’m currently being fostered in Virginia Beach, VA, but I can be transported out of state for the right home. If you think you’re the one for me, please fill out an application. You must be 21 or older to apply. I can’t wait to meet you and start our fun and exciting journey together.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
