Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Billy is a sweet shy X-Puppymill Survivor Looking For The Perfect Adopter Who Understands His Background and Goes Slow. Billy is a nice little 8 month old puppy, carries scars common to Puppymill dogs making him shy and submissive with people. Puppymill dogs do well with another dog in the family, they understand each other People need to earn their trust, He has been coming along nicely and will likely be on the shy side, He has begun to find his voice and likes to bark at passers by and squirrels in the yard and the cat in the house, He requires a fenced in yard as his potty place. If you aren't willing or able to do this don't bother applying. For his safety as a potential flight risk and he not understanding leash walks he must be available to potty in a safe secure yard. No exceptions!
Billy earned his name because he likes to climb! He can climb from the dining chair to the table and cause all kinds of mischief. He likes to bring down his booty and chew, so he needs someone who is aware he is a puppy and will sneak and chew whatever he can find. He climbs on the low cat tree! I found him once on the outside recycling garbage can. He is named Billy as in Billy goat. We want to emphasize this feature of his personality!
Billy is crate trained and is pretty god about potty habits but again he is a puppy and needs his new family to start at square one with him, Puppymill dogs require an adult family that will go slow and earn trust and realize the dog may always be a bit skittish and carry scars of fear. Dogs as young as Billy typically come around pretty well
Billy is fully vetted, He has been neutered, received age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of his adopter His adoption donation is $1200.00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family,
Little Dogs can live to be 20+ years old so he wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits, If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate to adopt Billy please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/aoption
We are all volunteers with full time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com.
If you aren't looking to adopt, but still would like to help Billy please consider a donation for his food, housing, and veterinary care. To donate, please visit: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/
