My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milkshake is a beautiful senior kitty who isn't asking for much - just a warm, soft bed and a sunny window to live out her retirement years! Milkshake is estimated to be roughly 17 years old, and we don't know a lot about her history. We do know she is smart, independent, and curious, and you'd never guess that she's a senior; she's healthy, playful, and surprisingly athletic!

Milkshake is also fairly spicy, so based on her personality and temperament, she would be a good candidate for a "working cat" or "barn cat" situation. If she were younger, she would be a great mouser (and probably still is)! However, given her age and her preference for being your only kitty, her ideal home would be one with no other cats or dogs, some nice comfy blankets, windows for her to observe the outside (her favorite pastime), and parents who understand that loving Milkshake means keeping a decent supply of Bandaids on hand ;-). Milkshake likes her space, but once she's comfortable with you, she loves getting head and ear rubs. She can be hand shy and quick to swat, so she must go to an adult home with experienced cat owners. Like most spicy kitties, Milkshake can have a short fuse and is easily overstimulated, so she would need someone who can respect her boundaries. Because we don't know her history, we don't know why Milkshake does not enjoy being picked up, or why she gets tense and suspicious if she feels she's going to be messed with, but her forever family should be aware that she is generally a chill kitty that can get aggressive if she's feeling extremely fearful or cornered.

Please feel free to email me at collingsfostercats@gmail.com to let me know if you're interested in visiting Milkshake, or if you know of someone who can give this frisky senior kitty a comfortable and loving retirement!

ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.

If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/

Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat.

Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent

All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313
