My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, kind soul! I am Denali, a graceful black and white domestic shorthair with a heart as tranquil as a mountain peak and as mysterious as the night sky. Life's journey has led me to this moment, and I'm now on the path to finding my forever haven-a place where patience and compassion will light the way to my heart. With my shy disposition and gentle spirit, I'm eager to share a life of love and trust with the right person.

My coat is adorned with the timeless contrast of black and white, a visual reflection of my enigmatic nature. My shy demeanor is a testament to the depths of my sensitivity, and I'm searching for a guardian who understands that it takes time for the stars to reveal themselves in the dark. While I might seem reserved initially, my heart is a treasure trove of affection waiting to be discovered.

I'm the kind of feline who believes in taking life one cautious step at a time. The rustling of treats and the soft sound of a comforting voice are invitations to gradually come out of my shell. With patience and tender care, I'll soon be at your side, seeking gentle strokes and offering my quiet purrs as a sign of my growing trust.

The home I dream of is one where serenity reigns and understanding is abundant. I long for a patient and compassionate companion who will appreciate the beauty of a slow-blooming bond. With the right person by my side, I'm confident that I can transform from a shy beauty to a loving and loyal companion.

If you're ready to offer a haven of patience, love, and understanding, I'm here, waiting for you. Let's embark on a journey of companionship and growth, where each small step we take together brings us closer to a connection that's as profound as the mountains themselves.

Go meet their pets

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently holding in-person adoption events. Most of our cats are in foster homes and we are doing virtual meet-and-greets with them.

We also have adoptable cats at our two partner cat cafes – CatCafe Lounge (https://www.catcafelounge.com/) in West Los Angeles and Cat Therapy (https://www.cattherapysb.com/) in Santa Barbara. You can make a reservation on their websites, or we can arrange a meeting by appointment once you have filled-out our application and spoken to our team.

More about this rescue

Stray Cat Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on educating and empowering communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued. Everyday, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support. Our goals are to:

-Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education.
-Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs.
-Help shelters transform from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures.
-Educate the community about the plight of free‐roaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter.
-Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no-kill through our grassroots programs.

Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
