My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello!

My name is Calypso! I was rescued from a great big flood in East Asia where I was injured and had maggots all over my wounds. Thankfully I was able to be treated and I am very healthy now! I am currently living with my amazing foster family in the USA where I have learned that the best thing in the world is called a couch! My foster mom says I am a little bit of a "Couch Potato" but I do like my walks! I also LOVE pets, but I am a gentleman when asking and will give you my paw. I also am very calm, relaxed, and gentle. My foster mom says I would be a great addition to any home, even if you have small kids! I love everyone, including dogs and cats, but love to snuggle with my family the most and get lots of belly rubs. I would be the BEST movie marathon pal.

If you are interested in being my forever family, please submit an adoption application for me! I have lots of love to give and cannot wait to meet you!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We work with a “direct adoption” approach, which means most of the dogs stay at one of our sanctuaries in China and fly to the US after a forever home is found. Upon approval, we will start to coordinate the necessary travel plans. Dogs currently in foster homes will have the information listed in the dog’s profile. You will be welcome to meet them and their foster parent(s) pending a satisfactory adoption application interview.

More about this rescue

No Dogs Left Behind is a leader in global animal rescue.
We fight on the front lines saving dogs from slaughterhouses, dog meat trucks, wet markets and exposing illegal dealers and breeders. Through international alliances and local resources, we engage in every step of rescue.

Once rescued our survivors are evaluated, vaccinated, medically treated, sterilized, named and housed at one of our 2 locations in China. Not only do we restore the health and medical well-being of the of the dogs, we also work to restore the emotional spirit as well through social interaction, leash training and park times.

With no government funding of any kind No Dogs Left Behind operates solely on donations from dedicated followers and fellow activists.
