My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vanpelt arrived at our facility in August 2019 after being rescued from auction. He was reportedly a cart horse and had four shoes on when he arrived. We believe he is either a Standardbred or Dutch Harness Horse. He is in his late teens and stands around 16 hands.
Vanpelt has been out of work for the past year from being in a foster home. He was previously walk/trot under saddle but did have a bucking issue and due to this he is best as companion only.
Vanpelt has a fantastic puppy dog personality, with an easy going attitude stands tied to be groomed/bathed. Vanpelt does best with no mares, but gets along with geldings out in the field.
If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.

Adoption Fees for Dogs/Puppies:

Our fees range from $195 to $450 depending on age, medical treatments completed, etc. All dogs leave our facility up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing/preventative, flea/tick treatments, and microchipped.

This pet may have received other medical procedures, testing, surgeries, grooming that will necessitate a higher fee to cover these procedures. You will be provided with all medical records and certificates, leash, collar, starter packet of information. While we hope all our dogs find their exact forever home the first time they get placed, sometimes it just doesn't work out. Even after 6 months or 6 years, we are still here for you if you would ever need a home or help with your adopted pet. We also offer a lifetime of support and advice if necessary to help you work through any issues with your new adopted pet and your family. Our adoption fees help pay for the spaying/neutering, health care and food for rescued dogs, horses, cats and other companion animals that live at the rescue. If it seems high to you then you should reconsider adopting an animal as the cost of veterinary, preventative, and personal care over the life of an animal is not something to be taken lightly.

Information on housetraining, compatibility, history, and temperament of any animal may not be known. We will post updated information as it becomes available.

Adoption fees for cats/kittens-$95 +. Fee covers spay/neuter, all necessary vaccines, Felv/FIV test, multiple de-wormings, flea/tick treatment, and micro-chip with a prepaid registration which will be transferred into your name after 30 days. While we hope all our pets find their exact forever home the first time they get placed, sometimes it just doesn't work out. More about this rescue

Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue (LCR) is a public volunteer, non-profit (501c3) organization rescuing and rehabilitating horses and domestic companion animals. Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue is dedicated to promoting and educating the public to humane and responsible treatment of horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules (equines) and other domestic companion animals including dogs and cats. LCR provides a safe and secure refuge for abused, unwanted or neglected animals and has a new facility that can be used for temporary housing for any species in the event of a disaster.
