Jolly is one of the 11 dogs we brough back from Newkirk, Ok.
Jolly is a little white pitty with a cute little pointy nose. She is very petite for her breed but has all the love and heart required to be a pitty. It was obvious why she passed her temp test the moment our volunteers saw her, she was warm, affectionate, adoring and gentle. She is thriving in her boarding facility and learning to become a real dog. Having daily volunteers come and walk her at the boarding facility has helped her with socialization, leash skills and basic obedience. She quickly became a volunteer favorite. She has spent some time with volunteers in their home and really thrived, she had no accidents and seems to tolerate other dogs extremely well. She loves to give kisses on the face and climb right into your lap.
Jolly's name fits her, as does her nickname 'Pumpkin Pie' because she is both happy and sweet like pumpkin pie. She begins her basic obedience class the last week of January and will begin working on turning into a loving family pet. Its amazing that a dog that has come from such a horrific background can so quickly turn into a model pet.
We expect Jolly to excel in her training classes and to quickly become one of the first Oklahoma Canine Good Citizens! Her intelligence, drive and heart have taken her this far, and we know that she will strive to become a wonderful dog, family member and good citizen of whatever community she ends up in!
