Ted is one of the 11 dogs we brough back from Newkirk, Ok.
It just takes one look into Ted's eyes and you can see all the way down into his gentle soul. He is a weathered stone who has been waiting so long for someone to polish him up. Ted has been trying to get comfortable since we took him off his chain on December 20th. He's been busy learning how to be a dog without having to fight to find a way to stay warm in the sometimes frigid temperatures that make their way through the Midwest. He's having to find other activities to occupy his mind since he gets fed regularly and fresh water every day and, the cherry on top is when a human friend comes into his kennel to spend time with him and only him.
Ted is a very loving guy who is still a bit shy but warms up very quickly. He's submissive and needs someone who is willing to work with him everyday and encourage him, without babying him. There is a very happy, confident dog inside that wants so badly to work itself to the surface so Ted can begin to excel and understand what is expected from him as a dog who no longer lives on a chain. He is overjoyed to see people and is more interested in giving and receiving affection than he is in playing with his toys. He waited patiently chained in a field and he is still waiting patiently now that he has been given the opportunity to find a more fulfilling future.
Ted does very well with other dogs after a proper introduction and enjoys playing with Jolly, another rescue from Oklahoma. He is going to make someone a great pet and we are lucky to have him with us.
