My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Magnolia! She is being fostered in Portsmouth, VA.

Magnolia was surrendered to a North Carolina shelter with two of her puppies. Both of her puppies were adopted, but she was left at the shelter by herself. She was said to be about 3 years old and was only 35lbs at intake.

Fast forward to now, the vet believes she is more so around 1-2 years old and has gained some much needed weight (now at 44lbs)! She looks to be an Aussie/German Shepherd mix and is the cutest girl! She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccinations and preventatives.

Magnolia has a super sweet, happy, and playful personality. She loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch and be by your side at all times. She does have separation anxiety and needs a family/person that has plenty of time to dedicate to her. If you leave the house, a kennel would be the best route until she is more comfortable in your home. She can easily wiggle herself out of a wire crate, so would need a durable kennel. She will get into trash and chew on items if not watched and howls when she is left alone.

Magnolia came to our rescue with no prior training or manners. She now knows sit, wait, and is still working on lay down. She will need more training for basic commands/obedience. She is mostly house-trained, but may sometimes have an accident in the house if she drinks a lot of water or hasn’t been out in over 4 hours. She walks wonderfully on a leash and is curious of everything! However, she can also be timid and shy at times.

She is a medium energy dog, which means she still needs an energy outlet, but she loves to just cuddle as well. She is learning to play with toys and takes treats nicely. She does great with other dogs and cats, but has not been tested around children. With her personality, I do believe she would be good around kids.

Magnolia needs a home willing to give her the love, care, and training she deserves. She has come such a long way and can go so much further with the right home. She is the sweetest and cutest pup and deserves a great home that will love and spoil her!
