Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Located in Fayetteville, NC -
Kylan is the sweetest tripod boy looking for his forever home. Kylan is a tripod as he is missing his left rear leg.
We don't know his exact breed mix, or how he came to be a tripod. He does just fine on three legs, though. It simply gives him some unique character.
He weighs 38 lbs and he is estimated to be around 9 years old. He is still very much a puppy at heart!
Kylan loves toys, playing ball, and absolutely adores children. If kids are around, he is stuck to them like glue. This boy adores children!
Older kids would be best, though as he does need his people to understand gentle handling.
He likes to show off a little with his catching ability. One of his favorite activities is playing catch. He loves to catch a ball, toys, or treats.
He makes a great shadow, as he prefers sticking close to his people. He loves to get his steps in by following you around the house from room to room.
He loves all the pats, scratches and brushing that he can get. He is crate trained, although he doesn't need it. He is a gentleman and just prefers napping when you're out. He is fully house trained.
He is fine with female dogs, but doesn't care for male dogs, or roughhousing playful dogs.
I think it's a bit due to fear of being knocked over by them.
For this reason it will be important for any other dogs in the home to match Kylan's low key, laid back personality. He would also be fine in a one dog only household. \
Kylan has not been tested around cats, but I don't see him being one to bother them.
He seems to gravitate to men more than women, but doesn't have an issue meeting or bonding with either.
While Kylan does need his person to understand that he isn't a long walk seeking boy- he does still enjoy being semi active.
He loves short walks and outings. He really loves car rides, and does very well when out and about in public.
He loves to romp around in the backyard and will make sure no toys are left unattended in the toy basket. He makes it his duty to pull every single one out and is quite good at entertaining himself by playing with them. Especially if they squeak!
Stairs are still not his friend due to trying to hold his balance on only three legs. For this reason a one story home would be best.
He will also come with a dog- wheelchair/cart. This is just to help him with some extra support on longer walks, etc. He is comfortable in his wheels and he knows how to make them go, go, go.
If you think you're the right fit for this deserving puppy like senior boy, please submit an application.
He is also neutered, fully up to date on shots, micro-chipped and on monthly Heartworm/flea prevention.
Here is the application link: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
