My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Boss! I'm a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a unique personality that makes me stand out from the pack. I'm a friendly guy, but I have to admit, I can be a little shy when I first meet new people. It takes me a bit of time to warm up, but once I do, I'm full of energy and love to play!

The shelter environment makes me a bit anxious, but I really come alive when I'm outside or in a home setting. I'm looking for an experienced owner who can help me navigate my big feelings and give me the time I need to get comfortable. Sometimes, when I get really excited or overstimulated, so having someone who understands that and can help me manage my energy is super important.

I'm happiest when I'm running around in a yard or splashing in some water. I LOVE our splash pad at the shelter, and I bet I'd have a blast at a lake, river, or beach! Just give me some water to play in, and I'm one happy pup.

I've been working on my training and have already mastered "sit" and "shake." I'm getting the hang of "down," too. I'm pretty good on a leash, though I can get a bit excited and pull sometimes, so a harness-style leash would be a good idea for our walks.

I haven't lived with other dogs before, but I'm curious about them and think I'd do just fine in a home with a doggy sibling. I haven't met any kids yet, but because of my size and energy, I'd probably do best in a family with older kids who can keep up with my playful nature.

If you're an active person or family with a backyard where I can run and play-or if you love adventures like hikes and trips to the beach-I think we'd be a perfect match. I can't wait to meet you!

I qualify for Foster First, which means you can foster me for 14 days prior to adoption to ensure I'm the perfect fit for your family!
