My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Drew is a big, energetic dog with a lot to say! He`s a chatterbox who loves to show off and keep life exciting. When he`s outside, Drew is busy sniffing every crack and corner. There’s just so much for him to explore and he’s always on the go!

Drew doesn’t quite realize his own strength and can be a bit overwhelming for some people. He would need a home with people aged 15 years and older who can help him with some obedience training. While Drew has lived with another dog in the past, he will do best as the only animal in the home.

This busybody is seeking an active household that can give him all the attention and activity he craves. If you’re ready to match his energy and enthusiasm, Drew can’t wait to meet you!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
