My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, hello, hey! I`m Drew and I can`t wait to tell you all about myself! I`m a chatterbox and I love to show off! When I`m outside, I`m sniffing every crack and corner. There`s just so much to explore and do, I never seem to have enough time! I`m a big dog who doesn`t quite realize my own strength. I can be overwhelming and need to learn some manners. I would need a home with people aged 15 years and older. I`ve lived with another dog before but will do best being the only animal in the home. No cats either! I`m a busy body in dog form and always on the go. I`m looking for someone who can give me all the attention and activity I crave. If you think we could be a match, give me a call! Let`s get things movin!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
