Calling all American Bulldog lovers! Meet Cody, an 8 month old American Bulldog mix weighing in already at 50 lbs. He has beautiful baby blue eyes and gorgeous black markings with just a touch of orange thrown in for highlight. He also has adorable Dalmatian like spots!
Cody has only been in his foster home for a few days and is starting to loosen up and show his playful side. He has short bursts of the sillies which sometimes include jumping and love bites, which is normal puppy behavior. In addition to enrolling in training, Cody will need to find appropriate outlets for his energy.
Cody has gone to work with his foster mom. There he settles well, and is as happy lounging as he is being active. Cody is happy to meet new people, allows petting and is very sweet. At this time Cody is more comfortable meeting women than men, to whom he will sometimes give a low growl. With people he knows, Cody can be quite cuddly. He has become very attached to his foster mom which makes him feel safe, but may impede his confidence.
Cody previously lived with a small dog and they got along well. Cody has a normal level of interest in cats and could do well in a home with a dog savvy cat. Since he is still a puppy and doesn’t yet understand his own size and strength, interactions with other animals and children should be supervised.
Cody would do well with a family that has large breed or bully dog experience. While Cody has had some basic training his new family will need to continue a socialization and training program with Cody. This will both help boost Cody's confidence and build relationship with new family. The rescue can recommend trainers in the area if a family does not have an established relationship. Cody walks well on a leash but would benefit from continued reinforcement of good leash behavior.
Cody is being fostered in Bellingham, MA. His adoption fee is $500.00.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
