Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Smile and say "Cheez-It!" because our favorite goofy boy is ready to go home with you!
Cheez-It has won over the hearts of many on social media, as he has been looking for his perfect forever home for a while. Too long, if you ask any of us. This 2.5-year-old, 65 lb, Pyrenees/Shepherd mix knows he has so much to offer some special humans.
Our boarding partner describes Cheez-It as "a lot of fun! He's sure to entertain you and make you feel loved." How great does that sound?
Cheez-It's ideal forever family would:
- Take him on lots of walking or hiking adventures
- Provide regular mental stimulation; Cheez-It is a smart boy who loves to learn new tricks (he already knows a few fun ones)
- Give A+ belly rubs
- Make him their one and only doggo in the home (Cheez-It is so great, he's all you need!)
- Have older kids (15+), if any
- Provide him with at least one super comfy dog bed
- Be willing to indulge in some couch snuggles
Think you could be Cheez-It's dream family? If so, fill out an adoption application! Questions? Please email placement@thestreetdogproject.org

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
