Ruthie's journey from the streets to the shelter has been nothing short of incredible. This brave 5-year-old, 55-pound pooch survived a bullet wound and raised ten puppies who have all found loving homes. Now it's Ruthie's turn to find her forever family!

Ruthie is full of life and energy, always ready for the next adventure. With her captivating puppy dog eyes and playful spirit, she’ll have you smiling with her doggie pool splashes and zoomies around the yard.

An active family would be perfect for Ruthie as she loves staying busy with puzzles and toys. After a day of fun, she enjoys curling up on a cozy bed and even watches TV with her humans. Ruthie is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained.

Ruthie needs to be the only dog in the household, where she can be the center of attention. She’s eager to shower her forever family with love, laughter, and snuggles.

Our adoption fee covers vaccinations (3 rounds for puppies), de-wormer, microchip and spay/neuter. Requirements include completed adoption application and a home visit.

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
