My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cork plans to attend A MEET AND GREET AT PETCO IN ROSEVILLE 12:30 - 2:30 ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 14. 2775 NORTH FAIRVIEW AVENUE

Cork is a rolly polly loveable lab pup who likes people, walks on a leash and has started to learn about house breaking.

Cork and his sister Limerick were surrendered to PUP as the family had too many dogs and wanted all of them to get good homes. We think Cork is about 8 weeks old, but that is best guess. They arrived well socialized and were chubby and well cared for. If you are looking for a young lab cross pup, Cork may be the pooch you are looking for. There is just nothing about him not to love except he does not pose well for pix. He is living with other pups and dogs including a rather grumpy resident dog. He just rolls with the punches. He is crated at night and needs to get up once. He is crated during the work day and gets out once at about the 4 hour point.

The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog.

Cork has been vaccinated and wormed. He will need two more routine vaccination plus rabies at the owner’s expense. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of pup’s required spay/neuter at 6 months of age provided it is done by one of the PUP vets. We do place puppies outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay/neuter must be in place. We do not ship. Cork can go to his new home following his vet wellness check on October 16.

If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. Please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption. Check out this cool video https://youtube.com/shorts/pWHxjEgGpas?
